What are the odds of Bush impeachment?

I mean if they did it to Clinton on stupider grounds and far less public support, a Dem congress could easily get away with it, if only to embarass the hell out of him and send a message to future presidents. You can have malice aforethought, etc., and still kill someone in self-defense. Likewise, there can be defenses to perjury (protection of state secrets, honest mistake, etc.).
I'm not saying he didn't commit perjury. Of course he did. But this distinction between admitting to the crime and admitting to the elements is a big one. |
