Everyone always talks about the best places they have ever traveled to, but what of the worst?

I usually can have fun almost anywhere with the right people, but Orlando and Vegas stick out as being typical vacation-type places that I'd rather not spend money visiting again. Moscow was depressing.

That was what brought me to Vegas. Not my idea, got roped in by a friend celebrating a birthday who ended up having to cancel due to work. Fortunately I still had friends going there, but it seemed like the most pointless place on earth.

I also don't gamble.

I will agree, cruise is the worst vaca ever. You're stuck on a boat with a bunch of TTT people going to destinations plucked from "The Caribbean for Beginners" or something and after a few days the booze can only numb the pain of it not being over yet so much

I had an absolutely great time in Moscow, clearly you're not doing it right.

Vegas is the kind of place I would only go back to if the mission was 24/7 boozing and gambling, but then who doesn't know that going in?

Orlando is a TTT, no reason to go unless you have little kids you're bringing to theme parks

Now that I live there, I don't really have any interest in vacationing in large cities other than to visit friends. I can imagine it being a lot of fun for someone from a smaller city, but I like the idea of escaping the city for a vacation, not going from one large city to another.

Every family vacation ever taken.

My sister only wants to go shopping. My father - only wants to go to museums, which are fine, but only boring museums that involve something weird like the birthplace of some forefather. He also has an obsession with rocks, and whenever we're at a new place we have to stop so he can do some digging and study the rocks and sediment. My mother - completely accomodating and loving and giving except for one thing - she can't be exposed to direct sunlight. That one small thing, however, limits us quite a bit. My brother - pretends to be looking out for my mom's interests when he's really looking after his own. He also always wants to go out to eat at meat places even though half of the family is vegetarian.

Me - just want to be alone with my book and not drawn into the bickering. I often volunteer to go grab something at the store as an opportunity to be alone, and spread that time alone as much as possible. The whole vacation consists of me trying to find ingenuous ways of sneaking away without being noticed.

I have a good one:

Back in 1996 went on a vacation, caught some illness and vomited for over 4 days straight & had to be fed through an IV-Tube, must have been temporary AIDs or something.

Another one:

Family got lost in Detroit & I've never felt so terrifed in my life. Didn't want to stop and ask for help since a majority of the ppl were sitting on the side of road warming themselves with trash fires in metal drums.

Let me add another one:

Hiking on a mountain, got in a fight with a baboon over some food I was eating. The baboon got really pissed and bit a huge chunk out of my arm, thankfully my arm recovered, but I've never seen so much blood.

anything with my parents. Location wise, the worst was skiing in the midwest (icy, no powder) and staying at a very small town, at a small resort in mexico (bad/no airconditioning, no decent grocery stores or internet, the owners always wanting to socialize and being in your business, generally unpleasant while being quite expensive).
