The problem is that, by Israel's own admission, the real threat was coming from Iran and not Gaza. They would claim on the one hand that Hamas were doing Iran's bidding, then turn around and claim it was enough to kill the Hamas leadership with pager bombs. If Iran was the real threat, it never made any sense to invade Gaza before taking out Iran. |
