The more I think about it, the more I think that Columbia JD ought to eat a shotgun for instigating this. Cravath3L apparently seems to have *never* said ANYTHING even remotely racist, and yet CJD (plus this pauliewalnuts guy) are determined to pretend that he did and threaten to ruin his life because of it. Maybe CJD didn't intend for it to "go this far," but come on: when you play with a loaded gun with the safety off, don't be surprised if you end up shooting someone in the face.
This isn't even an outing of a guilty individual, it's a lynching of a guy who did nothing more than express mainstream views in a mainstream way. I reserve the right to change this view should someone link to even a single thread where Cravath3L is saying something racist (as opposed to bullshit "you can read into TEH SUBTEXT!!" claims), but I haven't found one yet.
I regret initially going along for the ride on this, however briefly.
That said, this whole episode does seem to confirm my theory about CLS being chock full o'douchebags. |

But once some others indicated that they had a problem with Cravath3L, he suddenly backtracks and calls them all douches.
I agree that this reflects really poorly on the school. When I started posting here, I was impressed that all the posters that identified themselves with CLS were all very civil, both to each other and to the rest of board in general. Even now when a CLS poster says something I disagree with, I would rather let it go and maybe raise it with them in person. Feels like some of that community is gone now. |
