Kirkland: wants top students that are also more self starters/confident, would probably dip into state schools a bit more than others to find it.
Sidley: wants top students and REALLY wants top schools, probably even moreso than the rest. i get the sense that LR is less consequential there and they also want some polish/professionalism.
Mayer: really wants tippity top students more than anything. Mayer seems to be a place where magna + law review is going to get you in the door regardless of personality. Seems to be more okay with taking the top students from Loyola, etc. than the others.
Winston: definitely wants fratters more than the others, seems a heck of a lot more slanted towards personality which it finds in greater supply at state schools. Loves Michigan. Likes Illinois/Indiana/OSU/Notre Dame.
Jenner: top schools are the key no matter what. I have always thought that they tend to favor women these days but I could be totally wrong.
Latham: no idea. other offices stress personality, really no idea re: Chicago.
Jones Day: wants one of the following- Notre Dame and/or Notre Dame.
Bartlit Beck: Two sport Olympians preferred, will settle for SCOTUS clerks or tenured professors. Ideally, a candidate will be all three.
