Shitlawyers: Fam Friend Had C-Section, Nurse Anesthetist Forgot Morphine. $$?

Date: May 1st, 2020 1:41 PM Author: insecure violet plaza kitty fam friend just had a c-section birth, and anesthesiologist gave the order for morphine to be administered for pain relief. chick was midway through the c-section and was in tons of pain, and ob/gyns asked whether she got the morphine and nurse anesthetist said she forgot to administer it. by then, it was too late to administer it. as a result, the chick had tons of pain during the c-section and afterward. and has emotional distress and says she never wants to go through childbirth again.
is her case worth anything? seems like liability is very clear cut unlike most med mal cases. but i have no idea if damages are worth much. chick is interested in suing, and im not sure if a shitlawyer would find the case worthwhile. |

It’s strictly for postop pain control and by no means would anyone ever get sued for not putting morphine in a spinal. Plenty of people have c-sections without morphine spinals (c-sections done under general anesthesia or sections where the spinal needs to go in so quick that there isn’t time to put morphine in). By no means is it required and I’ve done plenty of c-sections with no intrathecal morphine. There are plenty of other methods for pain control and in the vast majority of abdominal surgeries patients aren’t getting intrathecal opioids.
