Annoying summers

I would give max reviews to a summer who tells me that the work sucks, all of it, but that they're doing it for the money. |

I was forced to go to an event with a group of super arrogant attorneys at the firm. The type of people that you wouldn't fucking believe exist. They have zero inside voice and they think the way to make friends is to tell story after story that end in "and then [FAMOUS PERSON] told me I was the best lawyer ever, and I said you're fucking right!!!" (and similar shit like that).
Somehow, there were like 4 of them that were really really close and the firm thought it was a great idea to send summers with them because they were the up-and-coming big dog partners. Like mid 40s, but everyone thought they were going places. As an aside, these people were actually huge rainmakers, which made me wonder how the fuck rich people can handle being around d-bags like this for long enough to hire them as their attorney.
So I spent a night at some really nice restaurant eating steak and drinking, and hearing story after story about how great these guys were. It was like 6 hours of this shit. I didn't sleep much that night because they kept me out so late, and I got to work with bloodshot eyes, tired as fuck, and hung over as fuck. The associate dropped in the office I shared with another summer clerk (the other clerk wasn't there which is a good thing because she was a coniving cunt that would have outed the fuck out of me). The associate asked how my night was, and I just started to spill my guts. Talking all kinds of shit about how those guys were fucking clowns and I couldn't believe they existed in real life. Half way through my story I realized I didn't know the associate for shit, didn't know if she liked the guys I was with, didn't know anything about her. And my mouth just fell open and there was silence for like 10 full seconds. Then she left the office and I couldn't get work done all week. She's at a different firm now, but any time we run into each other she tells that story and tells everyone how awesome it was. |
