when you become serious. when it's time to discuss marriage and kids. look at is this way - most women don't immediately tell men that they can't have children. people don't immediately tell dates that they used to be alcoholics. or that they were raped. or abused by parents as kids. that they have a gambling problem. that they used to work as a prostitute. or whatever. but when you're discussing spending the rest of your life with this person you owe it to them to let them know who you really are. a "boyfriend?" please. boyfriends and girlriends come and go. |

Yet despite taking the best precautions they may still find out (e.g. someone tells them you are a tranny) or may catch the disease (e.g. condom fails).
In both cases you are choosing to subject someone to a risk of serious harm that they may not choose to take if they were fully informed. That is immoral.
The difference that is driving your attempt to distinguish the two situations is that with the tranny you sympathize with the tranny while with STD carriers you sympathize with their sexual partner.

when our friendship ended, it wasn't because of the money he owed me, or his wild mood swings, or anything like that. it was because he creeped me out one night when he mentioned that once he got his surgery, he would be tighter than the girl i was then dating. that was over my freshman year summer, and when i moved dorms sophomore year i stopped hanging out with him. i was actually all set for him to be my roommate that year, too. he was a good guy.

the medical community's position is that transsexuals have a mismatch between their physical body and their gender identity. obviously people are not supposed to be mismatched! people with XX chromosomes should have vaginas and feel like women and so forth.
the medical supervision is required to make sure that the person's belief that they are a woman is real. because gender reassignment is not a freaking nose job, its something that will permanently alter someone's life.
so...what exactly am i wrong about?
