I found it very troubling that they cited cases we hadn't addressed-- please generate a small table of every case they discussed, its relevance, whether we cited it or not, and if not why not. I am hoping that we addressed every case they raised and, if we didn't, I need to know why. Be thorough, but this shouldn't take you more than a few hours-- by now, you should already be an expert in all the relevant legal issues and the caselaw. -gives you concrete details on how to present it
-a bit smarmy on the “you should be an expert by now”.
Question: I would be very upfront with him on how much of an “expert” I am. I wouldn’t try and bullshit him with a ridiculous timeline. And I would try to add or give context to why “we didn’t cite cases they cited.”
Would I eventually be shown the door with this behavior? |

Doing what the OP described would involve reading a legal brief, pulling out every case that was cited (dozens or more, typically) then researching each case to find OTHER cases where a judge spoke negatively about the first case, reading and summarizing those cases, researching those cases to make sure THEY weren't criticized by other judges, and finally creating a chart showing the old cases, the critical cases, and summaries.
LJL at spending 9 hours hunched over a computer doing this while you and your e-commerce bros play foosball in the office and basically jerkoff for half the day. |
