So you couldn't conceal carry in another state in a place where you can conceal carry in your home state. And a state that prohibits conceal carry still recognizes your license, you just aren't allowed to do anything with it. Also, all states issue marriage licenses, not all issue conceal carry.
Montana doesn't have a speed limit on freeways but your Montana drivers license doesn't mean you can go 120 mph in Colorado. |

My only disagreement was that if a state didn't issue ccps, then they shouldn't be forced to, as that should be a state prerogative. But if you're saying all states have some form of a ccp, then you should be able to go to New York and abide by all the same rules that a New York resident and permit holder has to abide by. |

As it stands now, you may be licensed to carry in one state and your license only works in your state, a handful of other states, or most but not all states. Notably, NY, CA, HI, and most of the northeast does not recognize anyone else's CCW permits.
The idea system is in AZ, AK, KS, WY, and VT. In these states, open and concealed carry is 100% permitted to any lawful firearm owner. There are still rules about where you can and can't bring a gun, but they're the minority that actually follow the wording of the Constitution. |

I've posted a few times on this board that I always thought a convenient way around this issue was the allow the state to only issue "civil union" certificates or whatever that have the same force as marriage licenses between two persons of any type.
But now its kind of 180 because I never really cared much about Gay marriage at all but being able to have a CCW in a NOTORIOUSLY anti CCW state would be amazing. |

If you go north of Sacramento its easy to get a CCW but below Sacramento currently you can get one only if your job is dangerous like an armored car dude/courier dude - the only loophole is that if you own 3 or more rental properties in many counties you can obtain a CCW due to the frequency you handle cash |
