Or is this stupid?

I have a business/math background (but few accounting classes). I could probably take all the classes in one year though to qualify for the exam.

My personality:

Procrastinator

Sort of Type-A, but disorganized

Good with numbers (or at least I used to be before LAWL School)

Prefer back office jobs, with little client interaction

Want 9 to 5 job in the suburbs

doesn't it take a long ass time to become a CPA? and you need supervision and shit too, right? My gf's friend's husband works for Big 4 and he seems to have been taking those cpa exams forever and he is almost fucking thirty years old. Big 4 also has age bias. Accounting sucks but at the end of the day it's probably more marketable than law. I think if you are past mid twenties it might be too late though.

They think a 25 y.o. is too "late" to change their lives and we're all basically dead at 30. They are so wrong in so many ways!

I think it takes 2 years to get enough hours. CPA exam is two parts in many states. My ex passed California CPA exam 2 years out of college while at big 4. Maybe your sister's husband is dumb or you are thinking of the CFA which is multi part and which is for analysts. I am late 20s but look early 20s, fwiw.

yeah I have no idea what this guy's deal is. he is definitely a very senior accountant at big 4. Maybe he is getting a cfa too, I have no idea, because this guy has taken and studied for at least 4 or 5 standardized exams.

??? I could pass CPA exam in max 3 years, which includes giving me time to take all classes and get enough hours.

Law just seems terrible. Then again I'm in biglawl. I'd rather not do big4 either tbh..want a 9 to 5 super low stress job.
