I read a lot of his pseudonymous novels under the name Richard Bachman, those were pretty good. The Regulators was about a bunch of cartoon characters murdering everyone in a suburban neighborhood iirc. And it had those audacious psychosexual moments that he can’t resist putting in there. |

Revival was a 180 surprise and I had basically given up on his books but I listened to the audiobook and was floored when the Lovecraft plot started |

Personally I find it too campy to be really horrific. The horror anthology is an unfairly maligned genre and operates in the shadows wherein it is attacked from all angles by ugly critics with horn-rimmed glasses, diabetes and shingles. I thought V/H/S (the first one) was damned entertaining, especially Ti West’s segment about the couple on vacation. The British Amicus movies are great as long as you aren’t expecting any surprises.
