People and circumstances change, and there ought to be a provision for that.

E.g., "mark this thread/post as offtopic/outing/etc". That gets clicked enough times and you/GTO/etc get an email then lets you make the appropriate change just by clicking a link (e.g., to delete the thread/post).
That at least makes it efficient and easy for you to use (though obviously people will abuse the reporting feature). I won't wade into the moderators debate except to note that if you could get, e.g., the college board people to deal with law board moderation needs and vice versa people wouldn't be so upset about the identities of the mods. |
