Personal favorites include makers mark cask strength, jack Daniel’s single barrel barrel strength, wild turkey rare breed, and wild turkey kentucky spirit. Almost anywhere liquor store will have those. |

As someone else mentioned, Lagavulin is great--flavorful and easy drinking without nearly as much smokiness. It's not cheap, but nor is it particularly expensive for a 16 year old single malt. You can get it for around $100. |

stores used to *beg* me to buy their pappy and now it sells for 20x+ retail. and because whiskey needs to age (especially for the higher end stuff) supply cannot catch up with demand quickly. around 2014 the distilleries began expanding production bigly which is why we're finally seeing a resurrgence of 8+_year old american whiskey on the shelves. |
