These courts are looking for local ties first and foremost, whether it's a student from a T50 or a T6. I definitely think top 10% LR T14ers are applying this year. But the applicants with the best shot are those who are from the state, went to a good out of state school, and now want to return home to clerk.

Looks like they want local ties. I looked up the clerks for district judge in N Dakota and 3 of them had ties to the state
