Imho, a watch is a really bad idea unless you know he wants it, and in the particular style. Style and fashion are very personal choices. Further, not a lot of people wear watches outside of business attire these days. My mom and step dad have given me like three watches in five years, and I've never even taken them to go get properly fitted. Never worn em once.
