Sold small chunks on the way up.
Buy small chunks on the way down.
I literally just did exactly as Exeunt advised and it turned out 180. Still holding more now than my net worth pre SOL

To be fair,
It's absolutely fucking incredible that a decade into crypto, a bort that has been following crypto for years now and is ostensibly filled with a bunch of highly educated and highly intelligent strategic thinkers literally trained to spot patterns and capitalize on them still can't wrap its collective mind around "just fucking HODL".
Where will SOL be next week?! Where will it be next month?! What about six months?! Oh no how will I sleep tonight worrying about all of these price fluctuations, this market is so volatile should I sell or should I buy ahhhhhhhhh

To be fair,
(Guy smugly lecturing me in 2018 about how I "should have taken profits" on ETH "back when it hit $850 in 2017" or whatever)
Haha yeah haha, oh man yeah I wish I had taken those ETH profits in 2018 that would have made me "smart" according to the quotemo. Too bad I just continued to HODL.
"no way to feel good about watching your investment plunge by 60%"
Hey here's a crazy idea: Don't "watch" it, instead literally just ignore it entirely for months on end. Even years. Literally. Like I've been advising people to do forever now. That's how a staggering number of current BTC millionaires got rich off of BTC, btw.
If you know what the current price of BTC, or ETH, or LINK, or SOL is on any given day, you're doing it wrong. All you have to do is skim the front page of XO once a week for 2 minutes -- that will tip you off to when the next monster bull market hits, then you'll have plenty of time to start paying attention again and make a move if you want to do something at that point. Congrats, I just taught you how to completely ignore the price of all cryptos indefinitely and still guarantee that you never miss a bull market.

At this moment, yes it was very stupid to not sell anything.
Sol is down > 60% from its ATH. Btc and eth are about 2X from their ATHs in 2017/2018. Could have just chucked your money in the S&P and saved yourself the agony of all these crashes.
Yes, you're a genius investor and never selling has worked out very well for you.

To be fair,
For the last decade, I have spent 80% of any given 3 year period being a total fucking dumbass laughingstock who gets brutally mocked by pumos like you who are way smarter than I am, and then 20% being a legit financial genius at least according to the numbers on the metaphorical paper... except that the pumos like you always seem to be on extended vacations with your beautiful wives and gorgeous kids or whatever during those 20% periods, so I never seem to run into you guys then. Odd case oh well maybe I'll catch you on the next one haha yeah.
"saved yourself the agony of all of those crashes"
I have never once experienced any agony during a crypto crash because I don't pay attention to short or medium term price swings and I have never been tempted to sell any part of my stack of blue chip cryptos. But thanks for your concern!

To be fair,
I know a number of crypto multi-millionaires at this point, and the vast majority of them made their first million or two in crypto from BTC -- and, specifically, from buying BTC early and then either losing it and only fortuitously finding it again years later after it blew up, or from knowing where it was the whole time but totally losing interest in it for a long time after they initially bought it and then only regaining interest when it boomed big for the second time a few years ago. There are exponentially more people out there who bought early but then stayed focused on it and ironically ended up "wisely" selling most or all of their stack early "to lock in profits", and a lot of them only ever made a few thousand dollars in profit as a result of that decision and that was that (and many of them are now bitter as fuck about it too).
Probably just a coincidence that the consistently best results I've seen a decade in have been from a pure HODL. I'm sure it's a much better approach to *checks notes* "be really smart and get into trading crypto and actively monitoring and managing and rebalancing your portfolio as you check prices multiple times a week and think about it a bunch." At least, that's what a bunch of brilliant lawyers (including many former crypto skeptics to whom I was an idiot and a rube for hawking BTC just a few years ago) who would *never* neurotically overthink things to their own measurable detriment now smugly assure me (the guy they used to scorn for stupidly advising people to buy BTC back in 2013)! Haha yeah.
