I was born in 1945 and was just diagnosed with cancer. I'm 74. Times are a lot different now than they were. When I was courting and found my wife sex was treated completely different than it is now. A few months after I got diagnosed and into my treatment I flew down to Las Vegas and, with the wife's permission, attempted to essentially buy the experiences I wanted. She now looks at me with disgust, even though I failed as she does not believe me.

There are some things even money can't buy. I found out in the worst way that there isn't enough money in the world for even a prostitute. I am 74, old, shriveled up, sickly looking with the sunken eyes from chemo and a mild death rattle in my chest. I don't blame them.

So I will die, having never had any of these experiences. My children have no idea. Of course, again, it's a different era and things like this weren't just not discussed but buried so deep it DIDN'T affect anything.

I've lived a full life but my bucket list, in case anyone is curious, is below. Things I'll die never having experienced and always wanting to. DON'T BE ME. Get out while you still have life left to live. My whole family seems to have the 'long life' gene as we're all in our late 80's and 90's but cancer strikes at random and I'm done. You may think you're fine at 35 with years ahead of you and then the big C. Or a car around a blind corner. Get out, while you still have something to live for.
