Modern Portfolio Theory. It's all about maximizing return for a given level of risk by allocating your portfolio among investable asset classes.

Multistate Performance Test - it's easy. Basically, it's like a simple legal research and writing assignment. You're given a few short cases and told to write either a memo to a partner or client on a certain issue.

EDIT: I took the 2008 exam. We had to apply a six-part test to a set of facts. It was very easy.

titcr. I would add that it is an entirely "closed" test that asks you to prepare some sort of lawyerly document using just the "library" of research and "file" of matter documents that they provide. So you don't need to worry about knowledge of law or anything.

However, they are looking for particular things when they grade the MPT, formatting, style, organization, etc. The MPT is often worth 10-20% of the bar exam score in many states, so if you prepare for it and know the simple "tricks" you can pick up some easy-ish points.
