It looks like there are some biglaw offices in Denver that pay $160k/yr. How hard would it be to get into one of these offices? It seems like it would be a pretty good deal...what are the downsides (compared to working in a bigger city)? Is Denver a nice city?

there are like 2 such firms, + bartlit beck. it's nearly impossible to get one of those jobs.

denver isn't the greatest city if you're looking for ZOMGNYCBIGCULTUREBIGSUNDAYBRUNCH, but it's got enough fun stuff to hold you over until ski season.

You're not the first person to realize that 160k in Denver is a hell of a great life. It's difficult, in general, to get any kind of job in Denver. There are probably three or four firms paying 160k there -- check NALP to be sure -- but notice these firms have very small offices. It would be extremely difficult to get in without strong local ties and stellar creds.

Yeah, the Denver salary range is wacky... most clustered around 110k-120k, but a few in the 130k/140k range too.
