Now that Vegas (Golden Knights, Aces, Raiders) and Austin (Austin FC) are out of the picture, what’s the largest city in the USA without a major sports franchise?

I’m thinking:

Oakland

Honolulu

Hartford

El Paso

Quad Cities

Quebec City

Phoenix

Norfolk

Inland Empire cities (but I consider this LA)

Anchorage

Albuquerque

Raleigh

Chattanooga

Boise

It’s now the big 5 of major sports champ, Austin is also a completely different metro than San Antonio albeit close. I’ve actually driven between the two. It’s not like La to Inland empire where it’s constant city.

If you count soccer as a major sport, the largest metro area without a major team would be El Paso. If you don't count soccer, it would be Austin.

New England Patriots covers MA/CT/RI so Hartford isn't really true. Foxborough is barely even in the "Boston area".
