If you say nothing, there's a good chance that one of the following happens: 1) no one notices the error, possibly because the whole thing blows over, or because this ends up not being a determining factor 2) partner realizes error but thinks "oh well, anyone could have made that mistake, I wouldn't have caught that" 3) opposing counsel presents counterargument in a way that doesn't make it obvious that you were flat out wrong |

Please read and give me your thoughts." I got nervous as fukkk: time slowed down, I puckered my butthold, and sweat began to bead on my forehead. I was so nervous I had to read the letter a few times before I understood that I wasnt fucked. Opposing counsel mentioned the bad case we cited in a paragraph, and when I saw it I thought I was fucked, but he clearly didn't take the time to read the case, bc he attacked it on some other minor point.
