The PS3 itself is sleek and beautiful. Also, the sound quality is noticeably better than what I'm getting from the Xbox 360. Maybe that's just the HDMI. Also, tried the web browser, worked much better than I thought.
So my advice: just get one. |

1. they're both fairly expensive. $400-$500. The games aren't fundamentally better than Xbox games, they just have better gfx whereas the Wii does have a paradign-shifting effect
2. The 360 had this massive 1billion recall. I'd wait at least until the 65nm refresh
3. Blu-ray is cool, except the movies are expensive and the selection sucks. Mostly recent blockbusters, whereas I'd be mainly interested in obscure art films on blu-ray.
That said, a wii is healthier, chicks dig it, and it brings the greatest advancement compared to the previous PS2/xbox/Gamecube, a generation that I for one was quite satisfied with |

3. It will get better. Also, netflix has a great collection.
Also, I doubt any chicks are going to be impressed with you because you own a Wii.

this is fundamentally wrong. nba2k7 for example gives you more control over your player than any basketball game before it. the AI in the enemies in rainbow 6 and gears of war is more intelligent than in any previous shooter. franchises that have evolved from the last gen have better gameplay for the most part. and it seems you're understating the graphics difference. compare nba2k7 in HD to any last gen bball game and it's mind blowing. the graphics in forza 2 (racing) are astoundingly realistic and each car is specifically detailed down to every little driving nuance. that simply can't be done on a ps2, not to mention racing your fully customized auto against 5 other dudes on xbox live. |
