Representation in Senior Pay Levels ("Senior" = GS-13 and up):

seriously dude what kind of fucking qualifications do you need to work at the DMV, or as a receptionist at the public health clinic. Blacks make up the majority of public facing positions which requires little education/experience.
As the guy posted above, the stats show that minorities are underrepresented in positions that may actually require qualifications.
Get a fucking life.

You are shooting youself in the foot here.
a) At 18% of FEDGOV jobs and only 12% of population they are vastly overrepresented right off the bat.
b) Don't forget that when you take out felons, ex-felons, highschool drop-outs, etc, you are probably left with maybe 5% of the adult population.
Given that, tell me again how XO's "rage" is not justified?

The unspoken truth in the fed gov is that minority hiring is taking a huge nosedive. In the past when the private sector actually created good paying jobs, fed gov was seen as a crappy career with crappy future prospects. So those jobs went to non-elite grads , those who were the first to graduate from college in their family, mediocre students, those without good professional connections etc, because they were the only ones who applied.
Now just about everyone applies to any position posted on USAJobs. Since most positions require a "first cut" made on the basis of the numerical score assigned to the applicant, few if any URM's even get to the interview stage. There are no points given to blacks or hispanics. Points are given to vets, especially those who were wounded in action. In 2010 I read that something like 70% of all USAJobs hires were white male Vets. A wounded vet gets 10 points on his application, which means that a perfectly qualified individual (100 points on his app.) will be bypassed by a vet scoring a 91 (moderately qualified and a very easy score to achieve).

the vet preference is the real outrage.
it's not like "vet" means "served in combat." it just means "enlisted in the military."
basically if you weren't in the military, no matter how qualified you are, you're already at a massive disadvantage on USAJobs.
