Even if it's 1/2 salary I would still get 30k 401k from employer, which isn't cut. Plus any extra salary is taxed at 40%. Plus I can still work as many easy shifts 5-9pm same hourly rate. For my 1099 work I can also write off about 80k in expenses but if I work more I cannot write off more so pay more tax or make less per hour. Finally the only reason I still work full time is because i have very little equity. If I had even 5mil in stocks, any further work would cause much smaller % in actual income. Date: June 26th, 2025 7:46 PM Author: excitant stead rigor So the only hospital that would actually let me work 14on/70off requires that I do it onsite middle of nowhere, and I pay all expenses for travel and lodging. Benefits(payroll tax, health ins, 401k) still worth more than expenses but not by much.. 1099 companies can offer similar deal but they all seem sleezy like they'll screw me first chance they get. If I actually moved to Russia or Spain and just came back to usa 4times per year to work this 14night stint it might make sense. But so far I'm working fulltime..
