Date: February 10th, 2025 3:20 AM Author: Floppy Hospital Mother okay i guess. yeah it's messed up. and if the consequences were just "well if you have x opinion, i'll just stop talking to you" it'd be well not good at all (it's a mutual loss for the progression of the discourse) but tolerable in the short term and, in the moderate term, potentially mutually damaging, making for incentive to reconcile after flight is chosen but we're well beyond that now into proper third world stuff where, even though we have this beautiful and largely harmless if used in good faith pressure release valve called the internet to work these things out on, the social war's effects on peoples' lives and livelihoods are only accelerating and usually with *actual* centrists and moderates (not just token resistance or controlled opposition) being the first to be taken out or maimed or what have you |
