I just had a very short call with our military intelligence officer in Tehran (Mr. Snap!) and I will share a very short part of his report that is for public viewing: - It is very likely that the Paydar faction has gathered around Saeed Jalili and attempted a quiet coup today. - For almost 5 hours now, brief armed clashes have been taking place in Tehran on the Babaei Highway, where IRGC Commander Vahidi is hiding. - We are unable to see the clashes themselves, but it appears that one or more mobile groups are trying to force their way into unknown military fortifications. - It is rumored that Ghalibaf and Araghchi have been arrested. Some say that these two have been transferred to a IRGC safe house in the Pardis area. Interestingly, the sound of gunfire is also coming from this neighborhood. The situation is very uncontrollable and beyond military assessment. The partial end of the report for public viewing. |
