Has anyone here lived in a studio apt.?

Date: December 15th, 2014 10:47 AM Author: Blathering Curious Meetinghouse I'm considering move into a studio apt. after years of living alone in 1 or 2 bedroom units. Obviously, it would cut down on cost and I could live in a better location (downtown).
The unit I'm considering has this layout: http://i.imgur.com/3ZC6LtU.png
Can anyone here tell me what that would be like? I've yet to view the apt, so I have no idea how they arrange their furniture. Fortunately, I don't have much in the way of furniture or clutter. But I have no idea if my twin-size bed could fit in that "alcove." |

I had the pleasure of living in a studio apartment in jersey where the door was ON THE FUCKING STREET.
Needless to say, I dealt with all types of crazy shit. Notwithstanding shooing away mexicans from my door, I made it as cozy as I could, but your bed doubling as your couch and dining table is just not worth it from experience.

The major problem with the layout you posted is that it lacks any closet space. You need a closet, even a small one, to put your clothes in. So now you will have to buy a closet and fit it in the little space you have. Other than that it looks good.
I have two kids so city living in a studio is not possible for me. I envy you. It's going to be fun! |

if in NYC i wouldn't want to live directly above a bar/restaurant unless it is recently renovated and the floors are nice. otherwise the mice (which will 100% live inside the walls) will be able to get in your place. |
