It has been my experience that every single recruiter that contacts me completely sucks. They don't seem to have any idea about what it is you do (even after speaking with you or reading your page bio), what it is the firm that they are recruiting for does, and most importantly, whether you're even a candidate for the firm. It seems like they want to shoot as many resumes at as many firms as possible, even at the risk of making you look stupid.

If someone genuinely was interested in moving around, do any recruiters exist that are halfway decent to help?

There is definitely a range. Go with one from a respectable agency, and as you work with them over a long period, they will get a much better sense of what you are looking for.

Recruiters make money by getting already qualified ppl jobs. They take someone with a t14 resume and 3-4 + years BIGLAW and give their resume to as many firms as possible. If they win the lottery then boom, they place them and get a massive commmission equal to like one-third of salary for basically doing nothing.

This is how ALL recruiting agencies work IMHO. Some pretend they are more prestigious like Lateral Link or BCG but it is the same fuckin god damn shit.

Recruiters are fucking useless. Just do your own damn research and look at firm websites for openings and apply yourself. ITE it probbaly helps to NOT use a recruiter cause some firms are reluctant to pay the recruiter commission.

From my view a recruiter is actually a drawback now. Among relatively equal candidates a recruiting fee can be a deciding factor. Only engage one if you are already employed and don't have enough time to do legwork on openings, or if you are colossally lazy.
