The fascist moderators have rarely published their views to explain and defend the moderation decisions of their fascist movement.
These eager gentlemen must have forgotten the blood, tears, and jew gold spilt in the pursuit of freedom in the events that led up to the Does lawsuit. Now they ignore the virtually universal disapproval with which they exercise their powers.
XOXO posters--those who cultivate law school discussion and lulz--may exercise their right and perform their duty as contributors by accepting a moderator position and serving it faithfully. But, as XOXO posters, their sole duty is to focus on raising all men and all factions equally by unduly supressing none of them--allowing parody, memes, and criticism--enabling them to fight the necessary battles with even more beneficial results.
To overstep these limits of the role assigned to them, to confuse and contaminate parodies, memes, and criticism, is a mistake per se, but an even more egregious one when it is done to sponsor deplorable violence to justice and abuse of the system, and to justify the elimination of the freedom of speech.
It sounds like dark humour, to us, when the hatred and rancour felt by adversaries of the fascist moderators are dismissed as "differences in judgment", while that same group slanders all members of other XOXO factions as "spammers" and, by so doing, factually becomes foreign to their eyes, an oppressor, introducing thus within the board feelings and behaviours otherwise reserved for the enemy in wartime.
While it is true that rachmiel has taken a few credible initiatives, nothing in them belies original thought to suggest that the fascist moderation which he allows to persist has, indeed, destroyed the old board.
We do not believe that this chaotic and ineffable fascism is worth reneging our long-held faith, which for the past five and half years has been the very soul of the board as it resurrected itself from the PR board and became modern XOXO. That same faith was born of truth-loving, of justice-seeking, of civic and individual selflessness, of zealous intellectual and moral upbringing, of a quest for freedom, which is the strength and only path towards progress.
Our faith is not an artificial and abstract construct, nor an obsession born of poorly documented or understood theories; rather, it is the fruit of our tradition, which has become the core of our beliefs, a forma mentis et animi.
When the moderators speak, shrouded by punctuation, they echo the trite thoughts that moved, during the post-JBD reorganization, but a minority, without realising that therein lay the weakness of XOXO's social fiber. Instead, they almost seem to delight in the fact that most posters appear, nowadays, indifferent to the profound disagreements between fascist moderators and their adversaries.
The top XOXO posters never delighted in this, striving instead to grow as much interest in the precise powers and authority of moderators as possible.
The very support that the top XOXO posters showed towards moderation, when the program began, was motivated by the hope that, through it, renewed interest in XOXO would bring fresh ideas to the table, no matter whether tending towards niggerthreading or advocating change.
We will not despair or abandon our quest, not even in the face of today's purported indifference and inertia, not even when confronted with the breaches of the board's trust that limit freedom.
What matters to us is knowing what we want, and wanting something that is intrinsically good. The current struggle on XOXO will at least serve to revive our posters' interest in liberal methods and institutions, so that they may be better and more concretly understood and, ultimately, loved with more awareness.
Perhaps one day, looking serenely at the past, our arduous and dangerous strife will appear inevitable on the path towards a rejuvenated law school discussion board, which will be more mature in its understanding and will have recognized its duties as a society.
