Given a class size as large as Georgetown's, you should do what you can to stand out.
What you do your 1L summer is up to you. Just find something interesting and law-related. If you're set on a clerkship, think about being a research assistant to establish a close relationship with a professor who can write a letter of recommendation for you. Obviously, getting paid is better than not getting paid. |

Yes, Y is better than that. obviously HLR and SLR > GLJ. Other permutations are a bit harder for me to judge, especially if you think you might want to end up working in DC.
if you really want to think about transferring, i suggest being an RA. you'll have to get cracking right after finals though, so he has some work product from you on which to base a letter of rec before the transfer app deadlines. |
