At NYU they're discretionary and usually capped at 1 person, but I get the sense that most of the profs think they're supposed to give them out on a regular basis. |

They also did an online survey about callbacks and rumor (completely unsubstantiated) was that almost 40 people had zero callbacks. |

The summary of my story is that at least 25% of the class is really nervous right now and will be strown amongst the small public interest internships that will have them and that at least 1/3 of the people that wanted biglaw did not get it.
