It's idiotic on a number of levels.
1. being pissed off about late grades has nothing to do with the quality of education - doesn't belong in same editorial.
2. WTF good is a brief writing course to a student who doesn't intend to ever write briefs (approximately half the class that chooses transactional). . .There are plenty of writing courses at UT and they're headed by a good dood who's a very good writing instructor.
3. No top tier law school that I'm aware of spends significant amounts of time into required writing. They all have a basic legal writing class requirement. After that, it's up to the individual student to choose what to focus on.
4. No one is forcing students at UT or anywhere else to take Gender and Discrimination law for an easy A. It's a professional school - students are adults capable of making their own choices about what they want to study.
5. The idiots who wrote the article have 1 semester under their belts. They have no fucking clue.
