Does anyone have any experience with their time frames? I've received only 4 rejections from a good number of applications.

Current SSC clerk reviewing apps ---

We're getting tons of apps, most are crap. Even if your grades/school are good, some people have total freak things in their "interests" sections and are otherwise far too weird to hire.

My judge has made lots of informal cuts but we haven't mailed out any letters yet (not sure if we will).

Don't want to be too specific but some people's apps just give off that "feeling." My judge is very interested in hiring a coherent group of clerks that will work well together (for example, we're not going to hire all guys from the same school who really love football). In essence you're not only competing against the others apps but you're specifically competing against other people like you.

And yes, there are some people who are just so far below the grade/school cutoff that we almost immediately toss them. I think you need to be at a T14 or one of the local schools to have a shot here. If you're at the local school you need top 10% or better and if you're at a T14 you need to be somewhere around top 1/4 or so. But it really depends widely.

Depends on the judge, some will dip a bit lower (for example, if clerk previously interned with them and they liked him/her), but generally 15% is the most credited.
