I applied all over to pretty much every circuit. DC circuit is my top pick.

You'll have a hard time in DC unless a prof calls. You have a decent chance with those grades in markets outside NY, etc. Focus on the Judges where your school is located. The recent trend (at least with Judges in the areas I clerked) is to have a District Court clerkship first. Did you apply to those?

I do have a prof calling one judge on the DC Circuit, so we will see...

I did apply to district courts as well.

You should have no problem with those stats in district court (except maybe in SDNY).

I had very similar stats to yours and was able to land a District Court clerkship and a COA clerkship. Good luck!

Will likely need to do a district court clerkship first; then you will be a strong candidate (although D.C. Circuit is still a reach).

Let us know how it turns out.

depends on the school. some T25 schools like Notre Dame and Vandy place surprisingly well. others like Iowa and WUSTL are pure shit.

but DC circuit is basically impossible with your grades.

It's a tough year. I know nobody with more than two, and very many competitive applicants who got shut out. Be happy and make the most of it.

I received two interview offers after the rush... one about five days out, and another two months later (I'd withdrawn my applications by that point because I'd accepted my clerkship, but I guess that judge had it printed from OSCAR).
