Most profs I know are the happiest people ever. You wanna just focus on your research if you're a nerd? Fine, have fun. You want to make money? Go do outside consulting, write books, etc.
I think it's more realistic to make $1M+ as a business prof than a biglaw partner because you have more flexibility and can cater to specific customers. Once you're established, it's not out of question to be collecting $200-500K in salary + even more in board salaries, consulting/book fees, etc. |
