YLS

all are big on softs but YLS less so. just get 180 and 4.0 + decent softs and you're in.

Almost all medical schools rely heavily on non-merit based factors like volunteer experience, demonstrated interest, etc. Aside from a few exceptions like WUSTL, it's one of the least merit driven areas of higher ed.

You are just assuming that volunteer work, interest in the medical field, etc do not qualify as merit. How do you justify this?

Because any sociopath can pretend to be compassionate by doing that crap. It proves nothing that wasn't already proven with grades and test scores.

To be fair, any 105 IQ'r can get a 168 but I would hardly call Georgetown's LSAT portion of their admission's decision to be not based on merit. The fact that you can construct a scenario in which a specific criteria of admission can be "scammed" does not mean it is not a merit-oriented basis of admission.

I would like to see some evidence of this.

If a 105'r surrenders their will to me for 3 months, I can have them getting 0-1 on LG, 1-2 on each LR and 5 on RC. If you are willing to spend enough time, LG and LR become mechanical.

At least agree that you can grind 0-1 on LG. Given that it is not outlandish to imagine taking an average college goer and getting them to make no more than 4 errors for each of the remaining sections on an average test.

YLS is the most meritocratic since it's almost entirely gpa/lsat, but HBS students are the most impressive.

(3.83 from CSU Long Beach, working at Starbucks, studied for 8 months to get a 172 LSAT, can't wait to meet his intellectual peers at HLS)

lol. well that person would never get into HLS because his gpa is from CSU long beach. even if he got those numbers from berkeley he most likely would not get into HLS, given that its median gpa is now 3.88 and like half the students are form top 10 colleges.

this is all assuming of course that the person in the hypo is not a urm.

Are you implying that a "urm" will have some sort of advantage in the admissions process?

I got HLS with a 3.86 (from BIGSTATE) and a 173.

How mad are you that your 3.75 from Yale and 174 only got you CLS?

yup. a 3.83 from CSU long beach would need 179-180 to get in. i actually have a friend who had a 3.95/178 from UCLA who was waitlisted at HLS last year.
