I am of the same demographic as that pumo and I have noticed that for whatever reason, a lot of white doods who grew up in nice white people's suburbs aren't sexually attracted to ethnic women.
I like Northern and Western European women. Occasionally an Eastern European woman (czech, sometimes russian) really catches my eye.
But the dark hair/dark eyes/tan skin combo has never done nuthin' for me. That look has always been correlated with trashiness, think Jersey Shore or the Kardashains.

I can understand why someone can have a lot of different kinds of friends, especially if they are from grade school or church or some other activity which collects a bunch of people from different backgrounds.
But people usually segregate their friends. We have our hometown friends, our law school friends, our college fraternity friends, and so on. A quality chick would be embarrassed as all hell to introduce a new potential BF to her white trash college roommate or that J-Woww type girl from the summer share house even if she's good friends with both.

I just wish the movie would have been made in a way that wasn't trying to make Chastain's character into some kind of hero. I'm fine with her being portrayed as a woman and all (unlike some of my female friends who thought the movie would have been more effective had she been played by a man) but just make her character a bit of a cautionary tale on what can happen to a girl if she focuses too much on her career. Mainstream moviegoers aren't really getting the feminist hero worship that Bigelow wanted people to get, so it would have been better just to make the movie a bit more honest that we're not supposed to sympathize with Maya or even like her or view her as some sort of hero.
