Date: May 12th, 2013 8:56 PM Author: Multi-colored orange property legal warrant i used westlaw and i had a friend working at doj run me through ncic. i had a couple arrests (1 in hs, 1 in ug) both cases were "no filed" but i wanted to see if they were on ncic. the college arrest was the hs arrest wasn't. i disclosed the college arrest but it was nbd. it was a simple battery charge that was dropped when witnesses told the detectives i was defending others. probably 4 dudes cuffed, 2 of us had charges dropped. they just grabbed all of us fighting and held us for the night. got ror released and hired a lawyer and 2 weeks later (2 days before my arraignment) my lawyer emailed me letter from state that charges were dropped on self-defense grounds. i did have my college arrest expunged but it still popped on ncic though local state attorney's office had no physical file. i just sent the bar a copy of the letter from my old lawyer showing the no file and an explanation how i was a hero. |

it took him like a week but it might have been instant and he was just busy with other shit. nothing from hs came up. i was arrested, booked, and then the state never picked up the charges. i don't remember exactly. i never told my parents, never got a lawyer. i went to court for first appearance the next morning after my arrest and the public defender appointed for the hearing told the judge the state wasn't filing charges. it was a reckless driving ticket with an arrest for over 20g of weed. |
