SAN DIEGO or SANTA BARBARA or RENO?

Date: May 29th, 2013 9:01 PM Author: sadistic multi-colored nibblets corner Actually Santa Barbara is pretty much flat for 90% of the year because it's extremely protected behind point conception and the coast curves away from the northwest. San Diego gets substantially more wave action than Santa Barbara year round.
The main obstacle to swimming in the ocean there v. San Diego is the water temperature. Santa Barbara doesn't get much warmer than 62/63 in summer and drops down to low 50's in winter.
As far as sharks are concerned SD has more since blacks beach off la jolla is a greatwhite breeding ground. Obviously they travel from SD up north to San Luis Obispo county --> North but there are very few sightings or encounters in Santa Barbara due to the nature of the coastline mentioned above. The sharks instead stay out by the channel islands where the water is colder and there's more sea life. Once they go by point conception they move closer to the coast as the central coast area juts out into the ocean more so then santa barbara or santa cruz. |

Maybe a spot in incline village would be sweet. Tahoe living. No taxes. On the other hand, your best shot at good looking girls will be at the university and the university bars. Lots of dumbs from nor cal and vegas end up there because they couldn't get in elsewhere.
The mountains are right fucking there. That's a plus. Way closer than the Colorado mountains are to Denver, and shorter lift lines at the south and east shore mountains (although Denver has far better snow). Good luck. |
