congrats. Charleston probably has a super low COL compared to places like NYC, DC, etc. You could make a decent living on that salary
Do you know people there? Do you have an SO willing to move with you? Otherwise it might get lonely meeting new people ther

You have never been to Charleston.
Great food. "Top City in the United States" in the Condé Nast Traveler Reader's Choice Awards. Beautiful women. Beach culture. Airport is 30 mins away. Low COL.
Rednecks live out on the western side of the state.

Charleston is one of the most overrated cities anywhere. Period. It's one thing to make a weekend visit, stay in a nice hotel in the historic district, and eat some good food. It is another thing entirely to live here. Wanna talk about "old South?" Charleston epitomizes it. "Historical" buildings pay homage to the South's slave-ridden past. The racial dynamic is so pronounced that it is sickening. You can take a drive from the million-dollar homes along the battery to the ghetto areas with homeless bums sleeping in trashcans, and it only takes you a couple of minutes. Crime here is very in-your-face. I live in a condo in a nice part of town (which, unfortunately, is always very close to a bad part of town in Charleston). Vandalism occurs on a regular basis. It is worse than I've experienced anywhere else, and I have lived in much bigger cities than Charleston.
Traffic is a nightmare, not because Charleston is especially large but because there are only a couple of ways into and out of the city (it lies on a peninsula). The downtown roads are all two-lane roads - or worse, one-way streets. Parking is difficult to come by, especially on weekends. The city has not planned very well in this regard, as there are only a limited number of parking garages and surface lots.
For every nice shop or restaurant downtown, there is at least one bar geared toward the early 20's crowd. There's nothing wrong with that in and of itself, but you must be prepared when going out on the weekend that you're going to have to deal with obnoxious, loud, drunk college kids who still think the world revolves around themselves. I fear for the adults who come to Charleston for a quiet, romantic weekend getaway because they will have a hard time finding it.
Quality of life? Aside from traffic and the "Old South" attitude that supersedes everything, you have housing prices that are currently way overvalued. Diversity? Not really, unless you consider the influx of twentysomethings who move here for a year or two after college to be beach bums. The city's bread-and-butter is tourism, and you will not find much big business here. The result is a local business and political community that is very much a "good 'ol boy" system. Hey Charleston, 1952 called and it wants its society back.
