Now, people like you have vestigial memories of what families looked like, but you lack the ability to conceive of things that are not commodities. So you describe yourself as giving your GF money, and bartering her care for your child for your cleaning services.
You are not failing to marry because you might get divorced. Your ultimate divorce is a result of your thorough inability to marry.

Then my cousin married at age 22, she was proud as fuck of marrying so early. She ended up 10 years later in 2 suicide attempts, her husband attempted to keep custody of their only child by portraying her as an unfit mother, then he tried to keep the property that her father had given them as newlyweds, which was under her name.
So lol at marrying young and being happy ever after.
When you're older it isnt necessarily better or worse but at least you have more maturity to deal with shit than when you're under 25. |

She's too lazy to cheat, so far, but I genuinely think her best case scenario would be for me to die and her to get the Life Insurance, AD&D, common carrier trifecta, and thereby accelerate the next 15 years of my earnings into a lump sum payout.
The fault for our shit marriage lies with her and me for not being better people, who were ready to be more kind toward/honest with/vulnerable with each other, but if we were capable of that at the time there's a solid chance we don't get married in the first place. If we'd broken up and dated other people and gotten back together when we were 30, then we might've been more ready to handle it or maybe not. It doesn't really matter anyway, since any other path that doesn't result in me getting to be with my kids as much as possible is unequivocally a worse case for the rest of my life. But in any case, the organizing principle of my entire life for the next 15 years is making sure I give my kids the best life I can and get to be with them as much as possible. That means staying together and making the best of it despite all the baggage. |
