I'll listen, but it already seems like Jay's story can't be completely true anyway. It just doesn't mean
I think the problem is, Jay is pretty dumb, Adnan is pretty smart, and Adnan maniuplated him into helping and probably doing some pretty bad shit that he still hasn't admitted to.
Ultimately, when a high school girl dies, boyfriend or ex-boyfriend did it until proven otherwise, and in this case, the ex-boyfriend had written notes about wanting to kill her.

regardless, jay had every incentive to lie anyway and the fact that he was given an attorney doesnt make adnan more or less guilty.
ep 10 and the whole atty thing doesnt change my belief in any way that: 1) adnan more likely than not did it, and 2) adnan's jury didnt have ev beyond a reasonable doubt on which to convict.

I thought this at first but while the woman clearly hangs out with that crowd too much, she herself is very fair.
For instance, with the peeing in the woods thing she kept yelling WHY WOULD HE GO 30 YARDS INTO THE WOODS like a dumb lib would rant - and I was like damn libs are stupid.
But then she went that far into the woods and was like "oh it's not that far at all."

He seems like a sociopath to me.
I think much is made about how soft spoken, rational and articulate he is about the crime.
But we never really hear any empathy or anger from him. In fact the only time he really is angry is when he's called a nice guy.
If my ex-gf was murdered and I was wrongfully accused I would be crying and screaming every day.

I don't think so. If I talked to someone for hours and hours, it would come up.
Like he's not really mad he was framed. Or mad that she was killed. Or mad that the real killer is still out there.
He's just mad when people don't believe his version. It's like he's mad because he isn't controlling everyone.

" the police hear about Adnan from an anonymous caller, probably a member of the Muslim community. "
retarded pigs needed an anoymous caller to investigate an ex bf as a suspect? wouldnt they automatically go after any ex in the last year or two, and anyone at the school could have revealed adnan as her ex

I think the message of the show is going to be backwards of what it should be. I think they're going to say "Look at how ambiguous cases like this are, and should we really be convicting people when there is this much doubt?"
But the lesson should actually be about how easy it is to create doubt even when guilt is obvious. I find myself believing Adnan a lot - and Jays story seems like a lie. But it's obviously pretty much true.
We know that (a) Jay gave clear testimony Adnan was the killer, (b) Jay knew about the crime since he located the car, and (c) Adnan was with Jay that day and lied about it due to the phone call.
Now you can bicker back and forth about all the other facts and which way they go, whether or not Jay is telling the truth about certain things, the likelihood of the timeline, etc - but if you accept (a) (b) and (c) as facts, and it seems clear everyone does, what is the next most likely alternative?

Adnan: "Yo Jay! Today is the day! Here's my car and phone - grab Steph a birthday present and then later we'll do all that murder stuff."
Jay: "Aww man I dunno. Today? I have plans to call Jenn 6 times and hang with her for an unverifiable amount of time"
Adnan: "C'mon dawg I really only need you to dig half a hole"
Jay: "Can't it wait until it's dark out at least?"
Adnan: "Nope. It has to be broad daylight bro. In a public place. Where there might or might not be a payphone."
Jay: "Well what if I say no?"
Adnan: "Imma tell the cops you sell weed. If you want, after I do it we can drive all around Baltimore and try to score some weed because you can't sell it if you don't have it...Amiright?"

okay so then we are down to (c).
So if (c) was as you say, then why did Adnan lie and say he WASN'T with him when the phone call clearly shows he was.
And also, why would Jay go out of his way to frame Adnan and think he could get away with it if Adnan wasn't involved and Jay was involved? That'd be master criminal planning to pull off.
Do you see how your path is leading us to a much less believable version of events, even if Jay's version seems unbelievable?

You're proving my point. Yeah it's weird this girl said she saw him, then said she didn't , then said she did.
But that evidence is easily dismissible. She seemed to randomly remember six weeks ago seeing him in the library? Maybe she did, maybe she got the days confused, maybe she wanted to be helpful.
But the three indisputable facts in my opinion are that jay had special knowledge of the murder, jay claims adman did it. Jay and adnan are together the night of the murder, and adnan has his phone which makes a call near leeken park.
Whatever narrative you think took place, you have to account for those facts - and it's hard to clear Adnan completely doing so

But the Nisha call could have been something else. Remember, the only convoy nisha remembers regarding jay and Adnan occurred later because jay and Adnan told her they were at the porn store - where jay didn't work until weeks later
I didn't believe it at first either but I think it's plausible that jay tried to use the phone and accidentally autodialed one of only 4 stored numbers in it

This is the point I'm trying to make above. There are several hard facts that support his guilt. There are bunch of wishy washy ones that can go either way.
The *best* I can do to get Adnan off the hoook (and no Adnan defender itt has given anything more plausible), is to say that Jay acted alone, then when the cops came coming he realized Adnan was the best person to pin it on.
But that is giving a shitton of credit to Jay when it seems almost no credit is due. Did he plan on driving Adnan off to Leekin Park and using his cell phone? Did he steal Adnan's cell phone and then do it? Did it happen by accident? More importantly, at what point when he was in police custody for a murder he committed did he realize it was a good plan to admit to burying the body, showing them the car, and crossing his fingers he left absolutely nothing to tie him to the crime?

1- Jay knowing where the car was devastates the defense. It takes it from the potential that it could have been anyone in the world, to being Jay, Adnan or both. I think that is the single worst fact for Adnan to overcome.
2- Christina Gutierrez was the most awful, insecure, woman trial lawyer. Feels the need to be angry all of the time and yell and be just completely grating. The whole series of events that caused the mistrial in the first trial was completely on her. She gets destroyed in the Jay cross as she yells and screams while he calmly yes ma'am, no ma'ams her.
3- They comically overplay that letter from the girl claiming she saw him in the library. That just seems like complete bull shit from someone who was put up to doing something to help. Adnan doesn't recall it and that chick's letter sounds just exactly like someone trying to throw you a lifeboat. "Don't you remember when I saw you at x time and we talked about y?"

innocent people seek plea deals, tbf.
also, he'd have admitted guilt at his sentencing perhaps if he did it.
i dont think this is probative.

The changing story heavily indicates the involvement of a lawyer - not the trial lawyer (the prosecution got him a different lawyer at that point), but its likely he spoke with an attorney off record.
Its interesting, because typically lawyers advise the person to be totally silent (see the Spiers case), but I think Jay had already spilled the beans, so they had to do damage control.
Because he admitted to the crime, the attorney probably never wanted to go on record.

I wonder what the motive is for Adnan to kill Hae is?
I think he's so afraid of disappointing his parents and feels guilty about the money that they have spent that he will never admit what he did. I feel terrible for what his family has gone through knowing what assholes pakis can be.
