Sick and fucking tired of paying some guy $300 every time there is a large branch that needs taken care of.

When I told my wife I was going to buy a chainsaw, I swear I saw a glimmer of respect in her eyes.

16 inch. The absolute largest trunk I will cut is 20 in, and the 16 in bar can handle that easily enough with some patience.

It has been a while since I ran a saw. I figured using a fairly manageable sized bar and buying the lightest pro grade saw makes sense for my intended use.

1 week after buying it a 36in limb will break unexpectedly and you'll have to cut it partially by hand or learn to safely gouge-cut

If a 36 in limb breaks unexpectedly, it is time to call in reinforcements, if for no other reason to lift the heavy sun of a bitch.

And I know how to work a saw. I spent a summer in HS helping a brow clear timber on his land every weekend. Looking back, it is a miracle none of us ended up with a giant scar across our face.

We frequently get bad ice and wet snow storms, and I live on a street with a lot of trees. Every other year, a large limb falls on the street. I will thoroughly enjoy coming to the rescue of all the hard-bodied milfs on our street, while telling their husbands to step back so they don't get hurt.

It has all the bells and whistles. It is the smallest pro-grade saw Stihl makes. In fact, it is smaller than a lot of of the "farm and ranch" saws.

The main advantage of the pro line over the "farm and ranch" saws is ease of repair and weight, and pro line saws are only an additional $50 to $100 over the farm and ranch saws. Now that I am older, I can appreciate the importance of light weight tools, and when I buy something, I want it to last decades. I hate replacing tools.

I've run both, that decompression thing suggests that it's not the easy start, it's a heavier duty saw but the farm and ranch will also last decades and I'm telling you, pumping away in the cold is so much nicer when you barely have to pull

All of their pro line saws have a decompression valve.

I was under the impression that the 241 has their easy start feature, but I cannot confirm from Stihl's webpage. This video certainly makes it look like it does given how slow he pulls the cord.

I have been a Husqvarna since I was 12 and bought my first dirt bike, an old, beat-to-shit Husqy. But I have had a ridiculous number of Husqy power tools crap out on me recently, and I baby the shit out of them. I only run ethanol free gas in them, and if I am not going to be using them for an extended period of time, I always drain the fuel and pull the cord several times to evacuate the fuel from the carb.

I am done with Husqy, and one of my city's top Stihl dealers is located about 5 blocks from my house. It is a no brainer. I am thinking about going all in and getting a Stihl saw, trimmer, and blower.
