And most of you probably have SOME idea how your school places. But just about every answer to questions with no straight answer here is absolute bullshit!
Amazing how many here know the LSAT range a URM needs to get into t14, how well t14-t25 place in (fill in name of market), what ad comms look for in a PS, how much of a boost each ethnicity gets with AA, what rank you need to be in (fill in school) to get BIGLAW in (fill in market) and so forth and so forth.
You all feed off each others bullshit and create a culture of false truths here that is taken as actual real world fact. After a few months posters suddenly become experts on BIGLAW placement, admissions process, and anything you can think of.
People here should only answer questions they REALLY know the answer to (for example only things about YOUR school) and just admit that some questions have no solid answer or range.

How the fuck is a 1L at Columbia going to know how high one needs to rank in GW to get BIGLAW? I mean REALLY think about it. Hell even the student at GW doesn't know because there probably is not set number. We belive our own bullshit here and take it for granted. Then wonder why does so so not have a job if he's top 25 at USC, by our "data" he must already be employed in "medium" law at least.

it is remarkable -- but hardly sudden. a lot of man hours go into every accurate, informative post. when i reflect the considerable time i spend fact-checking or puzzling over getting the wording of a particularly critical idea just so, i am rewarded with the knowledge that i have enriched the life of a fledgling member of this wonderful community that we call The Law. |
