At least that's what the UC schools do for UG, and boalt has always been a low LSAT/high GPA sort of school. Hence ruskie getting in with something like a 3.9/157 as a white girl. Hey Clanfer, I know I am a bit of a anomaly. I have had experience abroad at the a top UK university, I have three majors, I'm black, I'm Jewish and I'm the president of two student organizations at my undergrad. I've also had a lot of business internships. My best guess is that this all played a big role in my acceptance to schools my numbers just don't match up with.

if he had a 3.8/168 i think he'd be pretty justified in saying what he said, but given his scores he'd certainly come off a lot more self-aware if he acknowledged that the schools really wanted some black students.
sorta like a long snapper who got D1 scholly offers admitting that he's nowhere near the best football player but just has something D1 teams need. |

Date: March 9th, 2017 2:26 PM Author: Pale stirring trailer park haunted graveyard it's hard to explain here without super outting...long story short. relatively low gpa, but i have a good academic pedigree, strong lsat (especially for a urm) and my work experience was nuts. but i had no guidance. i though AA was like "oh, a bump of like +2 pts for lsat" and i had a wretched october administration and a strong feb and the dates had passed.
if i had know i was a commodity, i would have applied and gotten in im positive anywhere to be honest.
at the end of the day, i judged myself like a white guy. and even then...i landed a little too softly. |

it all worked out perfectly. but it's interesting how i viewed MYSELF. i never ever wanted to benefit from AA. I viewed myself as someone who was not disadvantaged even if i grew up working class and brown. to me, everything was my choice and etc. so i didn't really want any boosts. ergo...i belonged below T14 because I didn't have a great gpa in HYP...if that makes sense. |
