Re: 2006 Salaries

We are pleased to announce salary adjustments as listed below:

Class of 2005 - $145,000

Class of 2004 - $155,000

Class of 2003 - $170,000

Class of 2002 - $190,000

Class of 2001 - $210,000

Class of 2000 - $225,000

Class of 1999 - $240,000

Class of 1998 - $255,000

These increases are retroactive to January 1, 2006 and will be reflected in February 28 paychecks for those who are in good standing and with us on that date.

2006 salary increases for Specials will be determined on an individual basis this quarter as usual.

We appreciate all your contributions and look forward to another great year.

By the way, we are disappointed to announce that Earl (The Goat) Manigoat will not be joining us.

Despite this board's obsession with vault rankings, compensation does not correspond thereto. There are plenty V10 firms that screw associates in compensation (Skadden, Weil) and there are non-V10 firms that always pay lockstep market bonuses. The moral is that those of you who are too TTT to get offers at the top ranked AND top paying firms, should take a close look at a firms compensation history before choosing a inferior V10 firm over a market paying lower ranked firm.
