First you had it with boomers being obsessed with corvettes, golf, and cigars--all really MANLY things girls would just never understand! Then with gen xers and their shitty mainstream punk bands and graduate degrees--literally the first MY MASTERS shrews were men who went to college and grad school in the 80s and 90s. With millennials it's just sad and disgusting. There's the constant obsession with growing pubes on their faces. Then you have the fact that most men in their 20s now are an exact mirror of brunchfart shrews, constantly shitmemeing about how "Saturdays are for the boys!" and consumer goods like processed meat and beer are inherently masculine. The most egregious example of this--and I'm sure everyone has seen an ad for this and I bet some of the guys here buy into it--is the $50-100 a month subscriptions for companies that mail you chinese made knockoff clothes that are really a $300! value. The whole men's rights movement is essentially just consumer dissatisfaction and guys not understanding that just because they spent $50 on a shitty peacoat we still won't fuck them because they're ostensibly insecure and--let's be honest here--ARE NOT CHADS. I never realized this until I studied abroad. Compare this to Europe, where these bizarre phenomena do not exist--men have a completely normal and healthy sense of their masculinity.
