Ljl at the dumb bitch suggesting the highest seeded first round loser should be able to pop back up on the other side of the draw. Just do completely diminish the impact of first round upsets. It's fine the way it is but the player with the bye should be required to withdraw by Tuesday morning for the two highest ranked players that lost in the last round of qualifying can play in the first round. The way it is now is fine though since the LL doesn't get any points unless he wins a match

interesting. so a LL vs LL play-in match for the 2nd round spot? this would be fair.

but what if the seed w the bye doesnt withdraw in time? it happens.

Then the seeded player loses his prize money and a LL takes his place as it is done currently

what else can you do? just sucks that the 4th or 5th lucky loser gets a bye and has to play guys who played the day before and can then win one match and get r16 points in a masters

When's the last time one actually did? Can't remember it happening. It's not that great an injustice anyway. No one cares when a qualifier or lucky loser gets a retirement after 3 games in the first round but now you have tards proposing that players who lost IN THE MAIN DRAW get a second chance in the tournament. That would completely cheapen every tournament where that happened

agree that guys who lose in the main draw cant get a 2nd chance. that's like saying a walkover in the final shouldnt happen and the SF loser should advance to the final so the fans get to see a final.

LL winnign a r32 match has happened plenty (esp w the new penalties for showing up injured and playing) but cant name an example. remember in a masters, the cutoff is usually around #48. the LL will prob be ~#50-60. not a stretch that he beats an unseeded opponent in the r32.
