amazon might not be a huge technical achievement compared to microsoft, but it's a much more spectacular business achievement. microsoft, in a lot of ways, has floundered for years despite it's market dominance. aside from windows, office and xbox their products are not leaders despite microsoft having every advantage.
microsoft had it's lunch eaten by apple, facebook, netflix, amazon, good and many others despite having every possible advantage over them. how many companies have beaten amazon at anything? despite amazon having *way* more competitors than amazon since it's "just a shitty online store that a lot of people tried". |
